English Football League One (often referred to as League One or Sky Bet League One for sponsorship)

The England Football League One (often referred to as League One or Sky Bet League One for sponsorship) is the second highest league in the English Football League and the third largest league in the English football league system.

League One was introduced for the 2004/05 season. It was previously short as the Football League Second Division and much longer, before the advent of the Premier League football, known as the Football League Third Division.

Currently (season 2019-20), Peterborough and Gillingham hold the longest term in League One, both last in the 2012-2013 season. There are currently six former Premier League clubs in the Premier League, Blackpool (2010-11), Bolton (2011-12), Coventry City (2000-01), Ipswich Town (2001-02) and Portsmouth (2009- 10). and Sunderland (2016-17).

There are 24 clubs in the first division (although there are 23 due to Bury's explosion). Each club plays twice against each other club (once at home and once away). Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw and one for a loss. At the end of the season, a table of final league rankings will be drawn up in this order based on the following criteria: scored points, goal difference, goals scored, a summary of scores between two or more clubs (rankings after the previous three) criteria) and finally a series of one or more play-off games.

At the end of each season, the two best clubs, together with the winner of the play-offs of the clubs, who finished in 3rd to 6th place, will be promoted to the EFL championship and replaced by the three clubs that ended up at the end of the division.

Likewise, the four clubs that ended at the end of the EFL League One, are relegated to the EFL League Two and replaced by the three best clubs and the club, which has won the playoffs in this division with the 4th to 7th place.

Sky Sports is currently showing live League One games with highlights shown on Quest TV in their EFL on Quest show. The highlights of all Football League matches can also be viewed separately on the Sky Sports website. In Sweden, TV3 Sport has the broadcasting rights of the league. In the 09/10 season, some league games were shown, including play-off games and the play-off final of the championship. In Australia, beIN Sports will broadcast live championship games. In the US and surrounding countries, including Cuba and Puerto Rico, some EFL Championship, EFL League One and EFL League Two matches are featured on ESPN. In Spain, DAZN broadcasts live matches of the first and second league.
